Communication is an important element of the LCP project. At the start of the project a communication sub-committee was set up to help devise and deliver the communication strategy. Not all partners began the project with the same level of expertise in communications, so it was important that a base level was established from which the partners could work. The sub-committee was made up of Laurence Hill from Fabrica, Niels Latomme form Netwerk and Aurelien Delbecq from la malterie. Through successful communication strategies all aspects of the project developed.
Central to the communication strategy has been the IRIS Contemporary Art Network website, which promotes the activities of all the partners and venues on one site and was created as a resource for local people and visitors to the regions. An IRIS newsletter and twitter account were also created to keep followers updated with all the project’s activity as well as with other events and exhibitions that have taken place. The LCP project has also been communicated on social media and through partners’ blogs.
Other communication tools have been the production of critical texts and a postcard project.
