Audience Development

Landscape, Cities, People built audiences for contemporary visual arts at its partner venues during the life of the project and beyond.
The partners developed a sustainable model for audience development through the following activities:

  • The development, delivery and evaluation of the creative programme (exhibitions, events and other creative activities) as a tool for community involvement and to shape strategies for audience development.
  • Audience research, which profiles audiences at each partner venue.
  • Working with and establishing partnerships with tourism agencies and organisations in the leisure and heritage sectors, to attract a broader mix of audiences.

Events and activities established joint working between the project partners and with non-arts organisations and tourism sectors in the cross-border region. From this work, LCP partners developed 3-Year Audience Development Plans and 3-Year Tourism Strategies. These will be used as working documents to help continue the work developed through the project between 2013 and 2015.
